Quick Scan
Quick Scan is the public audit tool at /scan. Paste an App Store or Google Play link — or search by app name — and you get a real, scored ASO teaser in under two minutes, no account required. It’s the fastest way to see what Apptonomy does before you sign up, and it’s the first thing the marketing site’s Start Free Audit button opens.
What you get
Section titled “What you get”Quick Scan runs against public listing data only. It never posts or modifies anything in a store account, so you can point it at any app — yours or a competitor’s.
The teaser result shows:
- The app’s identity (icon, title, category).
- An ASO Readiness Score out of 100.
- Top keyword opportunities.
- The top competitor and a note on what they do better.
- A short screenshots call-out.
The full plan — the prioritized action list, projected install lift, and the complete keyword set — is gated behind creating an account. That’s the claim step below.
Run a scan
Section titled “Run a scan”1. Open the tool
Section titled “1. Open the tool”Go to /scan, or choose Start Free Audit on the marketing site.
2. Give it an app
Section titled “2. Give it an app”Do any one of these:
- Paste an App Store or Google Play URL (the store share link works best).
- Type an app name and pick from the search results.
- Tap one of the Try one sample apps to see a scan run end to end.
Then choose Audit this app.
3. Wait for the run
Section titled “3. Wait for the run”A progress timeline runs while the audit works: pulling the listing, analyzing keywords, benchmarking competitors, and scoring against best-in-class. It usually finishes in under 90 seconds — don’t refresh the page. When it’s done, the teaser result appears.
Claim the scan into an account
Section titled “Claim the scan into an account”The teaser ends with a See the full plan panel. Enter your email and choose Unlock the full audit.
This hands you to sign-up (or sign-in, if you already have an account). Apptonomy links — “claims” — the scan you just ran to your new account, so the audit isn’t lost when you create the account. Once you’re signed in, the result page reloads as a saved report tied to your workspace.
Run the full audit
A claimed scan is the starting point for the complete audit. From the claimed result, choose Run full audit. Apptonomy uses the scan as the handoff and runs the full audit for the same app — a longer run (around two minutes) that produces the full action plan, projected impact, and complete keyword detail. When it finishes, the full report swaps in automatically, and the app becomes a project in your workspace.
The Check-My-App variant
Section titled “The Check-My-App variant”/check-my-app is a lead-capture version of the same idea, used for direct outreach rather than self-serve. It takes the same input — an app name, a store URL, a numeric App Store ID, or an Android package name — and adds optional name and email fields under “get the report by email.” Submitting runs an audit and opens a tokenized result page; if you provided an email, the teaser report is also sent to you by email.
A few differences from /scan:
- It’s protected by a security check and is not indexed by search engines — it’s meant to be shared by link, not found.
- There’s a daily limit on how many of these audits run. If it’s been hit, you’ll be asked to try again the next day.
- Recently audited apps are reused rather than re-run.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”It couldn't read the URL I pasted
Copy the share link straight from the App Store or Google Play listing. Bare numeric App Store IDs and Android package names also work on /check-my-app. If a pasted link fails, try searching by the app’s name instead and picking it from the results.
It couldn't link the audit to my sign-in
The claim link that ties a scan to your account can expire or go missing if the tab was reloaded mid-flow. Run a new scan and claim it in one sitting.
It says the daily audit limit was hit
That cap is on the /check-my-app outreach tool. Use /scan instead, or try again the next day.
