Join a Team by Invitation
When someone adds you to their Apptonomy organization, they send you an invite link. Accepting it puts you in their workspace with the role they chose, so you’re not starting a separate empty account.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- The invite link, sent to you by email by an organization Owner or Admin.
- Accept it with the same email address it was sent to. The sign-up form pre-fills that address for you.
Accept the invitation

Section titled “1. Open the invite link”The link points at /app/invite/<token>. Opening it shows a You’re invited! card with the organization name, the role you’re being invited as, and the email the invite was sent to.
2. Sign in or create an account
Section titled “2. Sign in or create an account”What you see next depends on whether you’re already signed in.
- Signed out — the card offers Sign In to Accept and Create Account. New users pick Create Account; the sign-up form pre-fills the invited email. Existing users pick Sign In to Accept. Apptonomy remembers the invite through the sign-up or sign-in round trip, so you land back on the acceptance step automatically.
- Signed in — the card shows the account you’re signed in as and an Accept Invitation button.
3. Accept
Section titled “3. Accept”Confirm, and Apptonomy joins you to the organization, switches your active workspace to it, and shows a Welcome message naming the organization before dropping you on that org’s projects list.
Verify it worked
Section titled “Verify it worked”You’re in the right place when the app is scoped to the inviting organization — the URL reads /app/org/<orgId>/... and the org appears in your org switcher. Your assigned role (Admin or Member) matches what the invite card showed.
Activation links
Section titled “Activation links”Some invitations arrive as an activation link (pointing at /app/activate/<token>) rather than the invite-card flow above. These are single-click: opening the link redeems the token and forwards you to the right place in the app.
If you’re signed out when you open an activation link, Apptonomy shows a sign-in screen with your email pre-filled, then redeems the token and continues once you’ve signed in. You’ll briefly see Activating your account… while it completes.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”The invite says it has expired
Invitations don’t last forever. Ask the person who invited you to send a fresh link.
It says the invitation was already accepted or revoked
An invite link is single-use. If you’ve already accepted it, sign in normally and use the org switcher to reach the workspace. If it was revoked, ask the Owner or Admin to re-invite you.
I accepted with the wrong email
The invite is tied to the address it was sent to. Sign out, then re-open the link and accept with the invited email. If you already created an account under a different address, ask the inviter to re-send the invite to that address instead.
